The Role:
We are looking for a Managing Director to lead our Australian operations by building exceptional teams, driving ambitious growth through strategic relationships, and delivering world-class engineering solutions that exceed client expectations. As a member of the Global Leadership Team, you will work closely with the broader executive leadership and report into the global governance structure.
Your Impact
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute comprehensive business strategy to achieve ambitious growth targets
Identify and pursue new market opportunities, service lines, and strategic partnerships
Drive revenue growth through commercial expertise
Represent the company at industry forums, and conferences
Client & Stakeholder Management
Personally manage relationships with our most significant clients and prospects, understanding that face-to-face connections create trust
Lead complex proposal processes for major infrastructure and development projects
Ensure exceptional client service delivery and satisfaction across all engagements
Build and leverage industry connections to create new business opportunities
Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, inspire, and develop our high-performing multidisciplinary engineering team
Strengthen a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Provide authentic, empathetic leadership that empowers team members to excel
Attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent in a competitive market
Champion diversity, inclusion, and professional development initiatives
Essential Skills & Requirements
Proven track record in senior leadership roles (Director/GM level minimum)
Demonstrated success in growing engineering consultancy businesses
Strong commercial instincts with proven P&L management experience
Successful track record in business development and client acquisition
Understanding of infrastructure markets, government procurement, and regulatory environment
Exceptional leadership capabilities with authentic, empathetic management style
Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, diverse teams
Outstanding communication and presentation skills at executive level
Demonstrated commitment to team development and succession planning

Salary banding for this role: $180k - 200k + superannuation
