The Role: 

We are looking for a Managing Director to lead our Australian operations by building exceptional teams, driving ambitious growth through strategic relationships, and delivering world-class engineering solutions that exceed client expectations. As a member of the Global Leadership Team, you will work closely with the broader executive leadership and report into the global governance structure.

Your Impact

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute comprehensive business strategy to achieve ambitious growth targets 

• Identify and pursue new market opportunities, service lines, and strategic partnerships 

• Drive revenue growth through commercial expertise 

• Represent the company at industry forums, and conferences 

Client & Stakeholder Management 

• Personally manage relationships with our most significant clients and prospects, understanding that face-to-face connections create trust

• Lead complex proposal processes for major infrastructure and development projects 

• Ensure exceptional client service delivery and satisfaction across all engagements 

• Build and leverage industry connections to create new business opportunities 

• Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations 

Leadership & Team Development 

• Lead, inspire, and develop our high-performing multidisciplinary engineering team

• Strengthen a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement 

• Provide authentic, empathetic leadership that empowers team members to excel 

• Attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent in a competitive market 

• Champion diversity, inclusion, and professional development initiatives 

Essential Skills & Requirements 

• Proven track record in senior leadership roles (Director/GM level minimum) 

• Demonstrated success in growing engineering consultancy businesses 

• Strong commercial instincts with proven P&L management experience 

• Successful track record in business development and client acquisition 

• Understanding of infrastructure markets, government procurement, and regulatory environment 

• Exceptional leadership capabilities with authentic, empathetic management style 

• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, diverse teams 

• Outstanding communication and presentation skills at executive level 

• Demonstrated commitment to team development and succession planning
