Role
We are seeking an experienced Test Architect to lead the performance testing strategy for a large-scale SaaS platform migration from on-premise infrastructure to AWS. This is a critical role focused on validating system performance, scalability, resilience, and reliability throughout the migration journey.
You will be responsible for defining and delivering the performance testing approach, architecting and implementing K6-based testing frameworks, and providing technical leadership across a complex, distributed, multi-database environment. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities
Define and own the end-to-end performance testing strategy for the migration of a SaaS platform from on-premise to AWS.
Architect, implement, and maintain performance testing frameworks using K6, aligned to cloud-native best practices.
Lead performance validation activities to ensure low latency, high throughput, scalability, and system resilience in AWS.
Design and execute load, stress, endurance, and spike testing across large, complex, multi-database systems.
Work closely with architecture, engineering, DevOps, and cloud teams to ensure performance is built into system design.
Analyse performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations for optimisation.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to performance testing engineers.
Own performance governance, standards, and best practices.
Support stakeholder engagement, clearly communicating performance risks, outcomes, and improvements.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including performance testing in cloud-native environments.
Proven background in performance and non-functional testing for large-scale, distributed systems.
Expert level experience architecting and implementing K6 performance testing frameworks.
Extensive experience in load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.
Experience testing large, complex SaaS platforms with multiple databases and high transactional volumes.
Strong understanding of low-latency, high-bandwidth system design and validation.
Experience working on on-prem to AWS migrations or similar cloud transformation initiatives.
Strong technical leadership and ability to lead teams and manage testing engagements.

Desirable Experience
CI/CD integration of performance testing pipelines.
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Observability tooling such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or New Relic.
Containerised and microservices-based architectures.
Security and resilience testing in cloud environments.
Salary
$120K - $170K
